Mawlid gifts and platters in Morocco

In Morocco, Mawlid (Mouled) is a family and visiting festival: two public holidays during which platters of dried fruit, sweets and gift boxes circulate. Guermello assembles these assortments in Casablanca and roasts in Taza — since 1994, delivered anywhere in the Kingdom.

  • Mawlid (Prophet’s Birthday): August 13–14, 2027 (estimated)

What is given at Mawlid in Morocco

Mawlid is celebrated over two public holidays and the household receives: the platters come out, dried fruit and sweets are served, and you bring an assortment when you visit. It is a festival where the gift is shared immediately rather than kept.

The formats that work best are therefore platters and assortment boxes rather than individual gifts: a round teyfour, an oval platter or a presented bowl assortment. Guermello lists these with prices shown, plus the option to build by weight from 250 g.

Platters, sweets and breakfast boxes

Three families cover most Mawlid gifts: roasted nuts and dried fruit for the platter, coated sweets (chocolate, caramel) for children and visits, and boxes of honeys and spreads that are given to a whole household.

For companies and institutions, the same period carries the thank-yous to teams and partners: series, personalisation (card, wrapping) and trade pricing, with a quote within 48 h.

Frequently asked questions

What is traditionally given at Mawlid?

Assortments meant to be shared at the table: platters of dried fruit and nuts, coated sweets, and boxes of honeys and spreads. The gift is meant to be opened and served during visits.

When should I order for Mawlid?

Six days before the estimated date. The exact date is announced by the Ministry of Habous; we deliberately show the earliest possible date so you are not caught out.

Do you make corporate boxes for Mawlid?

Yes: series, personalisation (gift card, ribbon, wrapping) and trade pricing. Quote requests are answered within 48 h with quantities, lead times and price.

Are the boxes suitable for children?

Coated-sweet boxes (chocolate, caramel) are the ones children go for. To cover both audiences, a platter built two thirds nuts and dried fruit to one third sweets works well.
