Guide — For business

How to choose a dried fruit and nut supplier in Morocco

Choosing a nut supplier for a hotel, restaurant or caterer comes down to five concrete criteria: format, consistency, traceability, lead times and the commercial relationship. Here is how to assess each, from a roaster that has supplied these trades since 1994.

  1. 1

    Format before price

A minibar, a breakfast buffet and a pastry kitchen do not need the same thing: sealed individual packs, bulk, or intermediate formats. Ask which formats actually exist before comparing prices per kilo.

  2. 2

    Consistency of taste

A supplier must deliver the same product order after order. Small-batch artisan roasting and a selection that is stable over time are the two signals to check: ask for a sample from two different batches.

  3. 3

    Traceability and compliance

Ask for certificates and origin. Guermello workshops are ONSSA certified (since 2022) and every product page declares its ingredients — useful for your own labelling duties.

  4. 4

    Lead times and logistics

Check the real lead time to your premises, not the theoretical one: the online shop delivers across Morocco within 24–48 h, and professional supply within 72 h.

  5. 5

    The relationship and the quote

A good supplier answers quickly and in writing: a quote within 48 h, a named contact, and replenishment planned for peaks (Ramadan, year-end, wedding season). That is what separates a wholesaler from a partner.
